Disability Resource Coordinator

The Disability Resource Coordinator can assist with these and other questions on your path to employment.

The Disability Resource Coordinator is:

An Employment Network who provides employment services to Social Security beneficiaries between the ages of 18-64 with disabilities.  These beneficiaries are called Ticket holders.

A Resource who helps find and avail yourself of programs that impact your ability to gain, return to, or retain employment.

A Facilitator who helps youth and adults with disabilities secure employment and become self-sufficient.

A Coordinator who develops partnerships with local agencies to increase job placement opportunities for individuals with disabilities by arranging appropriate services.

A Relationship Builder who reaches out and engages new agencies and organizations to expand employment-related services for individuals with disabilities.

The Disability Resource Coordinator can:

  • Provide information about employment and training services available through the local One-Stop Career Center, including:
    • Up-to-Date Career Information
    • Step-by-Step Job search Assistance
    • Computerized Job Listings
    • Free Access to Computers, Phones, Fax
    • Free Access to Assistive Devices (Dunkirk office only)
    • Connect you with employers to find the right job for your individual skills.
  • Refer you to local support services that help meet your employment goals, such as:
    • Social Security Work Incentives
    • Benefits Planning Assistance
    • Medicaid Buy-In Program
    • Housing Assistance
    • Transportation Options
    • Child Care
    • Work-Site Accommodations
    • Other Initiatives
  • Assist in Resume Development, Interview Preparation, and Job Placement through the Ticket to Work Program.
  • Offer information about protection and advocacy services for individuals with disabilities.

The Mission of the Disability Resource Coordinator is:

To help individuals with disabilities take advantage of programs and support services to get and keep a job that allows them to be self-supporting.
