We are the one stop workforce services.
Chautauqua Works To Get Back In Business After the Fire

The first step in restoring service for job seekers and business customers of the Chautauqua Works One-Stop will be in place beginning Tuesday March 2.  Through the generous assistance of SUNY Fredonia, Chautauqua Works and Department of Labor staff will be available at the SUNY Fredonia Incubator located at 214 Central Avenue in Dunkirk to accept applications for companies who have specified "apply at the One-Stop" in their job listings. Applications will be accepted for Carriage House, Cliffstar, and Berry Plastics at the Incubator Monday through Friday from 8:30AM-4:30PM. This will be the only service provided in Dunkirk at this time. The Workforce Investment Board and One-Stop Leaders are working diligently to find an alternative Dunkirk location where full services can continue; they hope to make an annoucement later this week.

"The fire last week was devasting for the community, the local business and the residents who accessed services and programs there," stated Dr. Sue McNamara.  She added, "It's inspiring to experience our small town come together in a time of crisis. We have been awestruck by the assistance provided by Board Members, DFT, Senator Cathy Young, President Dennis Hefner, and the City as well as the many private businesses and individuals who have offered assistance and space. Thanks also goes to our customers for their understanding and patience and to the enire staff and partners in the One-Stop, many of whom watched the building burn, losing personal items and their office homes." Katie Geise, One-Stop Director, emphasized that "It is our mission to be providing full services in the Dunkirk area as soon as possible."

When full services are resumed, notification will be on the website, newspaper, and radio.  Full services are currently available at the Chautauqua Works Jamestown location at 23 East Third Street.  You may also access services on our website - www.chautauquaworks.com and through the phone at 716-366-9015.
